Shiitake Farm Experience
Few ingredients are as quintessentially Japanese as the shiitake mushroom. It’s hard to imagine many traditional Japanese dishes without the shiitake’s hearty texture and rich earthy flavor.
In Itoigawa’s scenic Hayakawa Valley, the Yakeyama Shiitake Farm grows shiitake in abundance, making use of the Hayakawa River’s crystal clear mountain water. Through this experience tour, you can learn how shiitake mushrooms are grown as you harvest your own and grill them fresh at the farm!
