Kitare
Established with the concept “to make”, “to connect”, “to cultivate” in mind. Come participate in events at Kitare!
Kitare was opened in April 2020, after the original land was destroyed in the Itoigawa Station North Fire which occurred on December 22, 2016.
Kitare is an open space facility where people can casually gather and relax over food and other activities. It connects the gateway to Itoigawa City, Itoigawa Station to the Sea of Japan. There are often events held here for people of all ages to enjoy.
Under the slogan “Itoigawa: A Road of Smiles Restored by Strong Bonds,” Itoigawa City has been working to revitalize its townscape to become a community that is unique to Itoigawa and a place where children who will lead the future can be proud of, as well as to revive its way of life, which is safe and secure in the face of disasters. Kitare is a facility that was established with this slogan in mind.
The hall can be used for multiple purposes, such as for meetings or as a play area for children. By opening the doors, the indoor and outdoor spaces can be combined, where it can also be used as a temporary evacuation site in the event of a natural disaster.
