Aoi Shokudō

Aoi Shokudō is a local restaurant, within a two minute walk from JR Itoigawa Station, which opened in 1940. The inside of the restaurant gives off a Japanese retro vibe, with many handwritten menus along the walls’ interior.  The menu has a wide variety of Japanese style dishes, which are each served in large volumes and at reasonable prices, making it a popular restaurant for tourists and locals alike. Don’t forget to check out their special Itoigawa Black Yakisoba dish, a local speciality that was awarded a three-star rating!
